The lashes will need to be removed immediately and this can be a lengthy process. The glue is designed to last, so be patient.

Tip two – tell the client not to wear make-up for 24 hours.

Tip three –   always encourage the client to come back to you if any reaction occurs.

Anti-histamines can help, and a cold compress applied to the eyes is very soothing..

Doctors often don’t know about acrylate glue or how to remove it.  A trained therapist does.

Tip four –  always make sure that you keep a bottle of remover and some micro fibre brushes in your kit.

We now sell two types of remover and it’s entirely up to you which one you use. The ingredients are the same but the texture is different.

So which one is best?

The Gel Remover is safer to use as it won’t run into the eyes easily, the down side to this is that it takes longer to dissolve the glue, so best used when removing just the odd lash.

The Liquid Remover works quicker & is great to take off whole sets of lashes. The down side is that if you get it into the eyes it will sting, it is acetone-based – ‘ouch’.

Tip five –  please don’t put a set of lashes on a Client for the first time the day before a special event like a Wedding or an exotic holiday.

Encourage a trial two weeks before and then an infill prior to the big day.

The biggest tip of all – if you get stuck CALL US in the office and we talk you through it and soothe your brow!

I adore cross hatch lashes but they’re so hard to find! but pleased to find these and at a reasonable price too!

I do know AHFrancis lashes, and they’re particularly good, the spine of the lashes is particularly bendy so at least you can get good placement!

It’s tempting to think oh it’ll be fine. Until that is  you experience a customer experiencing a reaction to a product and feel the panic rising! So heres some handy tips for you to try.

Always patch test behind the ear and at the outer corner of a lash.

If you wish to use a fast drying fumey  glue, patch test behind one ear with the fumey glue and also behind the other ear with the sensitive glue. This will save the Client  a second trip if a reaction the the strong glue occurs.

If you are patch testing  a fumey glue, stroke a cocktail stick with the glue down the lash with the eyes closed.

Make sure that you have covered the bottom lashes so that the lashes don’t stick together.

If any redness, itching or irriation occurs the treatment must not go ahead.

It is always good practice to ask them to sign the consultation form to say that they have had a patch test.

Always remember a signature from a client stating she doesn’t want a patch test means nothing. You will not be covered by insurers if a reaction occurs.
