Have you ever looked at your business and thought, I really need to make more money or get more clients?

Let’s be honest; everyone has thought that at one time or another, haven’t we? Especially with the way the economy has been lately, lots of people are trying to find ways to make more money.

The thing about running your own business is that it’s all about being creative and thinking outside the box. The best way to make more money is to get the people who already come to you, to spend more money. And if they’re impressed by what you offer, they will do your marketing for you by telling all their friends!

Think about what you offer your clients at present; is there anything else you could offer? What could you do to keep them coming in, to keep them interested?

You’ll probably find that your clients love to come to you for beauty tips and treatments, and there are lots of other things you could introduce them to. Here are a few examples:

Health products
Slimming products
Healthy chocolate (I’m not joking; it does exist!)
Gorgeous underwear
Personal development books
Healthy cook books

Someone who is coming to you regularly is likely to be interested in these things, and many more besides. The list really is endless; your only limit is your own imagination. Once your clients trust your word and realise you know your stuff, they’ll be interested in what you have to say about a lot of other things too. Adding this extra, creative flair to your business is what will help you to stand out from the crowd.

If you don’t have space to stock extra products, you could consider creating an event and maybe doing a little symbiotic marketing with colleagues and friends.

Another great idea is to offer beauty lessons. Things like teaching clients how they can shape their eyebrows at home, with tips on how to use tweezers, attaining the best shape and colour, which products will work best at home. These things are simple for those of us in the business, but for ladies who don’t do this for a living, it’s the sort of thing they’d love to learn!

Why not have a brainstorming session with your staff and see how many ideas you can come up with? Make a list of everything, as mad and bonkers as you like, and go from there. With sessions like this, the rule is that nobody can shout down another’s ideas. That way you can get people’s creative juices flowing; the first few ideas might be a bit “out there” but once people get into the flow of it, you’re likely to come up with some fabulous ideas!

Think about the things that you do know and see if you can package it up in a useful way for your clients. Think about who you know that you could team up with create an event.

Once you start thinking about it, I bet you can come up with lots of different ways to diversify your business and offer more to your clients.

Whenever you feel blocked, breathe and think outside the box!

Have fun with it!
